I have created a project for myself to let off creative steam. It has been going on for about a month now.

-Generate at least five characters. Let them be whatever you want. Have fun with them. Use photo references when you can, but this is not necessary. They can be down to earth, or ridiculous, or anything in between. The only point you must remember is that they are all part of the same story. They will not necessarily interact, but they must all play a part at some point or another.

-Make a basic plot. Anything goes. Story must include all of the characters in some way.

-Create a short story introducing all of the characters. This could be a comic or just written or whatever.

Basically by the end of the year I want to have a bunch of sketchbooks filled with creative process, a photo reference library, and a finished short comic.

I would encourage others to give this a try in your spare time, I've been having a hell of a time with it.
